A Resource Management Platform for ELECTRIC POWER Utilities and Operators
Power utilities are in charge of complex multi-component electrical systems that require constant monitoring and regular
maintenance. The goal is to decrease instances of energy interruption to consumers, manage the power loads, and
maximize the efficiency of the transmission and distribution of electric power.
Axiom in collaboration with TL Consulting are cognizant of these challenges and therefore have developed a management
and decision support system for the electric power utilities dubbed PROMIS (Power Resources & Operations Management
Information System).
This system provides a platform for an overall analysis of the performance and reliability of the
electricity system and is based on American standards and procedures instituted by the North American Electric Reliability
Corporation (NERC).
PROMIS enables operators to:
Build a knowledge database encompassing all components of the electricity system (production, transmission, and
distribution). PROMIS enables the collection and real-time storage of fixed and dynamic data and technical information for
all components of power generation, transmission, and distribution.
Generate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in accordance with NERC’s unified international standards and best practices
in the electricity field.
